“Why Hypnosis?”
Good question. I hear it all the time, and know the scenario well.
You’re a normally-functioning person, capable of dealing with most of the things
that life hurls at you. You’re doing fine enough, and wonder what possible
benefit hypnotherapy could be to you. Or maybe you hear “therapy” and cringe,
because you don’t have issues, nor do you want to see a shrink. After all, you
wonder, is this ‘therapy’ like ‘psychotherapy’ or something equally heavy and
serious?
No; hypnotherapy is quite different. In fact, think of the word ‘therapy’ to
mean simply an improvement or gain over some part of your life.
What I do in my practice is general avocational/vocational assistance.
It’s more akin to coaching, teamwork, and problem solving- but using the secret
weapon of hypnosis.
What we can do for you is help you overcome the challenges that stand in our
way. It can even be a question of motivation, or confronting a limiting
belief.
If you’ve got nervousness about having to give a presentation for work, we can
work on anxiety for public speaking. If you develop a phobia for driving after
experiencing an accident, we can focus on that. If you’ve suffered a traumatic
break-up, we can help move you through the stages of loss and back to stability.
If you are wishing for financial success but have an unspoken idea that you
don’t deserve it, you have a subconscious belief that is going to sabotage
your goal.
The reason why hypnosis and hypnotherapy is such a powerful and effective method
of improving one’s life is because it deals directly with the subconscious
factors behind a behavior.
Much of our life is subconsciously directed and controlled. Here’s proof: pay
attention to the automatic actions behind something routine like making
breakfast or driving to work. Do you have to think much about those habitual
actions? No, of course not. Doesn’t it seem logical to you that similar
subconscious actions and habits direct us when it comes to habits of
over-eating, or not performing on the job to the best of your ability?
With hypnosis, we are able to explore the subconscious mind and the reasons for
why it is doing the things it does. We are also able to suggest changes and new
behaviors to replace the old ones that are not working for you.
As you look around this site, I have a challenge for you:
1. Identify the beliefs and behaviors that are holding you back in life
2. Commit yourself to overcoming it, and invest the time, energy, and resources
to do succeed
